Yoshi's Island DS

Yoshi's Island DS is the most recent action adventure game in the Yoshi's Island series, and a sequel to a game which hasn't had a true sequel (not counting Yoshi's Story) since the SNES. It's a relatively faithful, yet slightly lacking attempt to recapture the spirit of the original, and has been generally praised critically.

[edit] Characters and Abilities
In Yoshi's Island DS, there are many characters, some having returned from the original, and some new. This section lists all of them by whether they're playable, good or evil.
Playable (baby characters and Yoshi)
- Baby Mario- The young version of Mario, he's the returning character from the original game, and has the most average abilities. Only he can become invincible Baby Mario, only he can make sure eggs thrown bounce off walls and he's the character that for some reason lets Yoshi run fastest.
- Baby Peach- The second character, she has a parasol that can be used to glide across the windy sky.
- Baby DK- Another new baby character, he's the strongest baby character in the game, and can do a shoulder barge attack to attack enemies and break through walls. He can also climb vines and any eggs thrown explode when they hit something.
- Baby Wario- Another baby character, he has a magnet which can move platforms towards Yoshi and pick up coins floating around.
- Baby Bowser- Only joining them for one world, he can breathe fire to defeat enemies and melt ice blocks.
- Yoshi- The main character, and the horse like ride for the baby characters, he can eat enemies to make them into eggs to be thrown, flutter jump in the air and the various types of moves found in most Mario adventures.
