[edit] Wii Basics
The Wii is Nintendo's latest generation home console, and it is a machine that incorporates motion sensing and control into the games. Graphical power wise, the Wii is not actually that much more powerful than the Gamecube, but it can still handle some amazingly well made games in this sense (Smash Bros Brawl and Super Mario Galaxy being notable examples of pushing the Wii hardware).
So far, it is the leading console in the console wars, at least partly due to both it's motion sensing and the casual style of games released frequently by Nintendo and third parties (as exemplified by the appeal of Wii Sports)
[edit] Wii Features And Channels
Apart from the Wii motion sensing, the Wii has a variety of channels, including the Wii Message Board (for sending messages and pictures), the Photo Channel (editing photos), The Mii Channel (creating and editing Miis) and the Shop Channel (for buying Virtual Console and Wii Ware games). Other channels have been added by various Wii games, and hackers have managed to create some kind of homebrew channel application to run homebrew type software on the Wii through an exploit in Twilight Princess.
