Mario Kart Wii Competitions

Mario Kart Wii Competitions or Tournaments, as they are known in non-PAL regions, are the equivalents of Mario Kart DS missions, and are basically wifi enabled versions with online leaderboards that are found in Mario Kart Wii. There are currently these types of missions:
Going Through Gates/Rings
You must go through various numbered gates/rings in edited versions of the levels, like in Mario Kart DS.
There have been 2 tournaments of this type: #2, #8, #16
Collecting Coins
You must collect coins in edited versions of levels, like Mario Kart DS.
There have been 2 tournaments of this type: #5, #10, #13
Edited Track Vs Races
Vs races with conditions such as more enemies/threats, limited items or non race tracks being used.
There have been 3 tournaments of this type: #1, #6, #12
Boss Battles
You fight against a boss character from Super Mario Galaxy or New Super Mario Bros.
There have been 2 tournaments of this type: #3, #11
Edited Track Time Trials
You try to get the best time in an edited version of a track.

A boss battle against 4 topmen, from Super Mario Galaxy, on Galaxy Arena (a stage unique to this tournament). The Topmen are red spiked topmen mini bosses from the Battlerock and Dreadnought Galaxies in Super Mario Galaxy.

A boss battle against a giant pokey, on Thomp Desert. The boss seems to be one of the Giant Pokey mini bosses found in the Dusty Dune and Good Egg Galaxies in Super Mario Galaxy.

A VS race on Luigi Circuit with NO items whatsoever. This is both a Karts Only AND Wii-Wheel Only competition.

A Time Trial race on N64 Mario Raceway with Pokeys and oil spills, and nothing but golden mushrooms to help you.
