Welcome to the one and only guide to Toad Houses, which explains the different types, what stuff is inside, how to make them appear, and other trivial things.
The Different Types
There are many different types of Toad Houses, many offering each items of various natures or a 1-up game where you can collect a large amount of extra lives. They are:
Red Toad House
This Toad House offers you a random item out of a selection which includes a mushroom, fire flower, mini mushroom, or blue shell to go into your inventory.
Green Toad House
This Toad House offers extra lives in a game with random blocks. You hit a block for a 1-up mushroom, then hit more and more until all but one are hit or you see the Bowser card. If you see the Bowser Card, the game ends. There are also panels you can find for doubling or tripling the amount of lives you get
Giant Toad House
This Toad House offers you one item for your inventory, and that's it. That item is always a Mega Mushroom
Mini Toad House
Despite the name, this is just a normal Toad House with a different design. It is only found in world 8.
Purple Toad House
This house only sells secret backgrounds for 20 coins. It appears after you beat the game near the start in world 1
