View Full Version : Question: Is hacking really that bad online?
cheat-master30

Because I have never been online, nor want to for this game, but is it as bad as everything is saying? In fact, can you record a normal video for an example?

Ive only played this game before the hacker rush, so i wouldnt know.

Yar, I do. I played it for a good amount of time at release, and only picked up it recently...hackers have decreased drastically, I'm glad to say. Before, it was common place to find a hacker online within five, maybe ten matches. Nowadays, I see very few. People still glitch, which is funny...so I often put on a hack when I go online. But I only have it so that it has to be activated, so that I only use it if need be...
Overall, online has improved though. Too bad I'm no longer in an MPH hype.

Now all the glitchers are probably trying to find a way to use the timer reset for Mario Kart Wii and wifi glitches to cheat the online multiplayer...

Probably, but I wouldn't know...I hardly use my Wii now.

I heard that hacking for MPH was always bad.
It may have died down, but I never heard of it ceasing. (at least, to a certain degree)

5th May 2008, 11:30 AM
I heard it was bad as well (and the AIMbot code thing)...
Zexis
5th May 2008, 10:57 PM
AIMbot is about as dangerous as that kitten I found on the street the other day. And it was dead. >_< Lag makes it a terrible code.

5th May 2008, 11:14 PM
How about infinite deathalt?
Zexis
7th May 2008, 12:16 AM
Now THAT can very annoying, especially in tiny places like Combat Hall where all they do is ram themselves into the noobies...I've pretty much made it a rule now to turn on activate-only codes now, just in case. The hacking is down, but I'm not going to be put down by the few that still get lulz from it.

Wish Nintendo banned online cheaters using hacks?
Crazasta
7th May 2008, 02:58 AM
Nintendo can't ban people... Can they? Besides, this is a game that was made 2 years ago, the demo of which right when the DS came out. Nintendo probably wouldn't care.

IP ban? I know I can...
Zexis
7th May 2008, 10:17 PM
They do ban, at least for the Wii. I'm not too sure about the DS, but if they do, it would be for either Pokemon Diamond of Pearl. SONY does it by detecting CFW and then banning via your MAC address, although they might just delete your account, in which case you can get back on. And what's so ironic is that the non-cheaters that accidentaly are banned can't do anything about it; those that really do hack can just change their MAC address and go right back to playing.
cheat-master30
7th May 2008, 10:31 PM
There will always be technical ways around 'bans'.
Crazasta
9th May 2008, 10:36 PM
That sucks, then again, you can't exactly hack on the Wii. All I've heard of that's anywhere near hacking on the Wii is Powersaves, and that only gets you everything in the game, it doesn't give you a huge unfair advantage.
cheat-master30
10th May 2008, 12:14 AM
No, but you can exploit a certain game breaker TT glitch, which allows you to get times of like 10 seconds thanks to the timer resetting...

its not as bad as everyone says it is because some people just accuse other people of hacking when it is just because they are good, and one question: why is using action replay code using considered hacking? its just using cheat codes!

it's really annoying, especially when everyone else disconnects and ur stuck in a match with a noob who just fires omega cannon everywhere....
jakecoia
16th May 2008, 12:48 AM
usually its a dead give away when people are actually cheating, they use the omega cannon, weapons that arent possible to get on that map, example: trace with battle hammer on battle grounds, or they are flying around, and sometimes even jumping with the morph ball as if they were laying bombs on the ground when they arent laying bombs. just because someone gets zero deaths in a match doesnt mean they are cheating, most of the time when that happens, they are five star which means they are just good. oh yea! and another thing, in almost every single map there is a way of getting omega cannon, and it has infinite ammo so dont assume someone is cheating if they have omega cannon, unless they start the match with it.

BULL! there is only one level with the omega cannon...and that's oubliet.Unless you have some sort of proff..and i know you don't...

Yeah right I am so sure someone is good if they use the Omega Cannon anywhere else other than the level it spawns in, or how they glitch themselves into the walls so they can never be hit.
cheat-master30

Glitching into walls isn't AR, it's actual glitches.

It's hacking, they are not "cheat codes," because these "codes" are not regularly allowed in some sort of input area in the menu of the game. These codes hack and screw with the game's addresses and such to the AR-user's pleasure.
However, an AR-user who doesn't use Trainer Toolkit or any other hacking program to make their own codes technically isn't a hacker, just nooblets mooching off the real hackers so they can omega cannon and deathalt people.

I don't use specialist programs to make codes, just good old testing, variables and debug menus, and I'd consider myself a hacker... But as for calling them cheat codes, it depends. They are in a sense that they're sometimes activated by codes, albeit with an add on device, but as said, aren't built into the game.

I didn't mean specialist programs exactly, just any program that helps you make codes which hack the game.

What about using the values often shown on debug menus and such like? Or using offsets to convert codes between regions?

when i make ar codes i use codes that i already have, look at the digits compare them to other codes and just modify them to make them do something else

I've done that once, for someone on here that wanted a code. I have an AR, but I'm not a hacker...I know a bit about hacking, but I just don't have the supplies or time to do any myself.

It doesn't mess up their game, just, at worse, closes the game for all players. The code that does that is the %N code, and there are others, like the %A code, but it just makes your name longer.

As one_eye said, I enjoy making codes and seeing the fruits of my labor on the AR. I do not enjoy seeing hundreds of hackers ruining an awesome game, 98% of which don't even make codes, they just sap them off real hackers.
The cheaters on every game on wi-fi just give ***s who say hackers have no real skill more ammunition. I hate those kinds of people, they're just butthurt and many in the hacking community could probably own their asses without said cheats. I know I could.

Glitch, yes, but technically, if you don't make the codes, you're not a hacker. It doesn't matter if you don't hack against others, as long as you hack the game yourself, you're a hacker.

How exactly does the code work? Are you trying to tell me that you can change what's going on in the other person's DS? I think we all know that that can't be done, otherwise there would be a whole new r3alm of hacks, many of which would probably be made with malicious intent, no?
Note: I had to spell "R3alm" that way instead of with an E because it was censored. What's up with that?
