What do you prefer? And for the information, here is some stuff about both sides:
X Nauts
Main villain group in Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door on Gamecube. Tried to resurrect the Shadow Queen to destroy the world so Grodus, X Naut Leader could create a new world to his every demand. Invaded the Great Tree in Boggly Woods for a crystal star, then used a warship to attack Mario and various sailors at Keehaul Key for another star. Mario went to their moon base and fought Lord Crump and the Magnus Von Grapple 2.0, which used the audience as machine gun ammunition. Eventually won the crystal star (final star) from the X Nauts. But this was not over, and at the Palace of Shadow, Grodus fought Mario, who stopped fighting when he threatened the death of Princess Peach, taking her to the Shadow Crypt while Bowser then attacked. The Shadow Queen was resurrected by this, and because Grodus tried to command her, blasted him with lightning, turning him into just a mechanical head. After that game, some X Nauts such as Lord Crump remained, and Grodus was still just a head.
Shroobs
They invaded the Past Mushroom Kingdom, seizing the royal castle while the younger versions of Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Bowser fled. They then attacked Hollijolli Village (at Christmas time as well), abducting the residents for Vim (saucer fuel), which was extracted at the Shroob Vim factory in Toadswood Forest. Mario and Luigi entered this area though, defeat Swiggler and stopping their operations there. Then Yoob attacked Yoshi's Island, eating the Yoshis which were then being somehow mutated in a chemical factory run by the shroobs, which was halted when Mario and Luigi entered, defeating the enemies and Swiggler. Other times in the game, they invaded Toad Town, leaving it in ruins, fed Princess Peach to Petey Piranha and turned various residents into purple shroob mushrooms.
