View Full Version : Question: So Why Can't Gorea Be Online Again?

I remember a looong time ago, back on another site, there was a debate as to whether or not Gorea could be a playable character. Well, the answer that was ultimately agreed on was "no." However, I don't understand why this can't be possible.

Look at SM64DS. You can replace virtually any object, including yourself, with nearly anything found in game. Granted, the controls are clunky, you can't attack, but you can look like a Koopa, King Bomb-Omb, or just about anything else.

So. Why can't this be replicated within MPH? Replacement codes, that is. And, if this was possible, would it also be possible to change the character's graphic to that of another enemy found in the game? Such as, say, Gorea? And maybe someone with a TT could find a way to change only the graphic of the character, while still allowing the player to shoot weapons. I can see how going into alt form could be a problem. HOWEVER. Codes like this have already been made for a player where you can look like one character and yet have the abilities of another. So could it be possible for someone to find the value's of enemies and maybe objects, and make a code to switch those with the character? I would very much appreciate it if someone could look into this; I think it would be really cool!

P.S. If the answer to this is no and is painfully obvious to hackers here, please try not to flame me too badly, since I don't know how to hack myself. :P

P.S.S. I understand that it may not be possible for others online to see you as a different graphic. However, BOT battles and Adventure mode would be just as cool, if this is possible.

if i have ever found out the didgets for gorea and the "to be" didgets for mph then i could make it...

yeah... it would be easy for sm64ds O_O
but there's no nintendudect for mph ...>_>

Maybe Crazasta could make it? Or Cheat? Who else makes codes and has this game?

I couldn't make the code, since the only game I ever hacked was Mario 64 DS and small parts of New Super Mario Bros and Mario Kart DS. But there is nothing from what I can think of stopping Gorea from either replacing the player character or a random object in a relevant level...

Edit: I just realised that why in theory you could play as anything online or offline with codes, you'd need to be in a relevant level for it not to freeze the game. So Gorea would only be playable in the Oubliette multiplayer map and the single player last battle map. You could theoretically play as a Guardian in nearly every level in the game though.

Hey, Guardian would be fun!

Guardian with dealthalt ability would be funny... especially when they think it's just a wimpy robot thing...

Of course, what would be interesting would be playable Cretaphid. Slench or the Fire/Ice monster guardian things...

Gorea's alt could be Gorea #2, in oubleitte, the controls would be fine. it should be a replica moveset of sylux'es alt. form. But, i dont know if you can get gorea's shape in for a hunter or not. All the people I have talked to, say it cannot be done.

Ah, but can Gorea 1 be loaded into Oubliette multiplayer (or Gorea stage 2 battle arena) without freezing the game? You do know what happens when people have tried to load Bowser anywhere but his arena in Mario 64 DS? The game basically crashes, so in theory, you could have Gorea 1 only in the first arena, and Gorea 2 only in the main arena. As for replacing the characters, it does sometimes work, depending on the game, and sometimes gives them the moveset of characters you WOULD otherwise be using. See the Mario 64 texture and Mario mods for things like jumping, running Goombas and signs for example. In some though, a basic movement code would be required to give the character directional mappable controls.

Well, as for the movement codes, the only thing I have right now that could suffice is XYZ movement codes.

I made an attempt on my own...the results were fruitless. I simply took codes that I already have that are character-mod related and substituted a value in. The first code I changed was meant to automatically change your character in multiplayer to one you've set. The values went up to 6, for Weavel, so I put in a seven. It looked like this...

020cb51c 00000007

When I went to the screen where you add in BOTs, my character, which I have chosen as Trace, was gone and was now just a blank spot. When I started the game, it never got to the map, and froze. FAILURE ATTEMPT NO. 1.

So next I moved on my second set up character mod codes. These codes, made by Poksicle, are intended for story mode. You look like Samus but look and act like other characters, including their alt abilities (though Weavel never did seem to work...he even wrote a note saying he'd try to fix it. Haven't heard from his since.) Anywho, like the last attempt, I just put in another value. He had already made a Guardian code, and it used 7, so I put in 8. It looked like this:

020dab14 00000008

When I attempted to go into Story Mode with this code, the game crashed when I attempted to exit my ship. However, these codes are also nifty in multiplayer, when you can really morph characters...so I booted up my DS again and tryed it on multiplayer. This time, I started the BOT game and the map did load, and the game started. However, when I tried to spawn, it froze. FAILURE ATTEMPT NO. 2.

So I gave a go at it with what little knowledge I had...and no results. It may be that those values don't correspond with anything or that it just isn't the right coding. They are awful short...

Ah well. I still think that this is possible, but I don't have the right stuff or knowledge to look into it. Also, note that I only used the values I mentioned, it is POSSIBLE that other values may work with the codes, but I find it unlikely. Perhaps, as was previously said, they only work in certain levels, so maybe they would require a level teleport code first.

This idea of a cheat has been debated over before. The big question was...
1. He's huge, in places like Combat Hall you couldn't get through the part with the bridge.

Also, there have been so many codes that involve hacking into another player's DS through Wi-Fi. Yeah, that's not possible. My Sudden Death code, while activated on Wi-Fi, affected your DS, but not others. My friend was testing it and said he couldn't one-hit others, but others could one-hit him. So while on Wi-Fi, a Gorea code wouldn't do anything to other people at all. If you replaced a character's graphic with his, you'd look like that character to another person, nothing would change. Besides that, what would your top and bottom screens look like? You wouldn't be able to see any change whatsoever, you'd probably just see the character's top and bottom screen whose graphic was replaced with Gorea's.

This code has so many points toward it not being possible, and probably isn't possible.

Just as a side note to those who have little experience with codes, these codes I've found have no effect towards players on wi-fi.
Rapid Fire(You see the rapid shots, but it still takes the same amount of time to kill them)
my Sudden Death code(You die from the boosted match damage, but they don't)
Max 100% Cloak or 100% Invisible(You see no gun and such, thinking your completely invisible, but to other people, it just looks like you have regular cloak on.)

However, the debate is partly whether you can play as Gorea in offline multiplayer...

I understand from the moment I posted this thread that others wouldn't be able to see you as Gorea, and that they would only see you as the hunter you chose at the selection screen. I also knew that the top and bottom screens wouldn't be changed, seeing as there is no screen frames already in the game for Gorea. However, that's not to say that you couldn't just replace the graphic for your own personal amusement, eh?

And please understand that, while Gorea would be a treat, I am talking about all other enemies in the game, and maybe even objects. If graphic replacement codes could be made, seeing as they do little online to others and would probably just cause you to have difficulty online anyways, I'd have much more enjoyment using these codes offline, in BOT matches and in Adventure mode. From what Cheat said earlier, it may be that Gorea, 1 or 2, can't be used as a graphic unless you are in that Gorea's respective arena. And that would be quite fine, especially since, as you said, he is quite large and would be awful clunky moving through the maps. Though, while you changed the graphic, would your movement be limited to Gorea's size or the hunter you chose to play with? But imagine having a Gorea fight. Coupled with an automatic map teleport code and maybe some camera codes, you could have Gorea vs. Gorea, though you'd need to use your own weapons and would probably still sound like Samus.

SO. I would be completely fine with just the graphic, and only the graphic, changing, and nothing else, since, as you said, it would be so difficult as to be nearly impossible, if not indeed impossible for sure. But I ask you; is it possible to JUST change the character graphic to Gorea, a Guardian, or maybe even a box? If it is possible, maybe we could get a bit more of enjoyment out of the Adventure mode...because as most of us know, it sucked. :P Maybe a bit more spice can be brought into it with a Gorea vs. Samus dressed up in Gorea suit wrestling match, so to speak.

Gorea wouldn't get stuck if it worked like Mario 64 DS, since these characters can go through walls and floors when playable in that game, so Gorea can probably do the same...

I wouldn't think offline it'd be that difficult. Online for sure it would be far more difficult.
