Megaman Legends 2 Review by Turpinator

Alright, as I am sure a good deal of users here will nary give this review another thought, I'll keep this brief. I just recently had the pleasure of playing through MML2, not soon after I re-played the first in the series. My initial thoughts? I like MML2 alot better than the first.

Along with better modeling and character shading, the new game boasts an improved battle scheme, one of the most reasonable excuses I have seen for losing your equipments and weapons in a sequel to a game, better fights, and a good development of the plot set up by the first game.

All in all, it was fun; Much more challenging than the first game, but just as easy to jump into. The characters really packed some definition this time around, voice acting and unique designs all around; You really had a sense of how they were feeling during the cutscenes.

What I didn't like about it though was the Zenny (currency) shortage you always had in-game, with some rather lame ways to plug the money gap, it got very tedius trying to grind for money to buy the necessary equipment for themed stages; I ended up not bothering with it after awhile and just having to wing it.

In the same vein as the stages, I found the new status effects to be a nice new touch, but sadly had to facepalm for the amount of equipment needed to prevent or cancel their effects in almost all the stages being played in.

In all, as an unbiased player I'd have to rate the game 5/10, but as a Megaman fan, I rate it 7/10. The game definitely has it's good points, but at times the bad outweighs this. I'm hoping a third installment strips the bugs from the system, and shows just how good this series can be if given the right material!
